It was the top stair of the second floor staircase that tripped my son. The carpeted, rounded lip caught the top of his foot as he frantically ran, while laughing uncontrollably.
I was chasing him, racing him, and playing monster all at the same time.
A rectangular ray of light shone through my bedroom window and into the hallway where Cash sat perched on his knees. Panting and red-faced he looked at me and challengingly smirked. The sun hit his joy-filled eyes. I was reminded of how lucky I was to be a dad.
