With full day kindergarten in full swing in Ontario, many parents will be choosing to have their three and four year olds spending a minimum of six hours a day at school come September. What does this mean? Well, it means a lot of changes to your child’s routine. And one major change is taking away afternoon nap time.
According to Judith Owens, pediatric sleep expert, more than 50 percent of four year olds still take naps. According to me, these percentages don’t add up when you’re sending your child to school and it can become problematic.
